Bulge Derivatives

I created two styles of drawings I called derivatives, Bulge drawintgs and Twister.  I called them  “derivatives” because the ideas that generated the pieces were derived from Formulart drawings.

The bulge drawings were created by using a grid method of reproducing an existing picture.  The process is started by drawing a grid of equal sized squares on a source image.  A target grid is then created with the same number of squares as the source image has
(Grid 6 for example). The target grid will have a middle area square drawn two to three times the size the squares in the source grid.  The rest of the squares the target grid will be logarithically smaller until squares remaing can be made the size of the source grid squares while keeping the right number of squares.  The target image is then painted on the target grid such that the same part of the image is in the same square on both grids. I started using this technique in 2018 and future iterations will look at multiple bulges and variations in the placement of the bulges.
