Twister Derivatives

I created two styles of drawings I called derivatives, Bulge drawings and Twister. I called them “derivatives” because the ideas that generated the pieces were derived from Formulart drawings.

Twister started long before 2011. I started the drawing with the idea that I would rotate the center rectangle by 45˚ more in each successive drawing. This was fine until some lines were hidden by other lines, etc. I was drawing in India ink and if I made a mistake (i.e. a line drawn too far when it should have gone out of sight under another section of the drawing), my only choice was to start over.  Out of frustration, I gave up on it several times only to come back to it after a year or two. Consequently, 10 years lapsed before this series was completed!
